CALL FOR ENTRIES: Opportunity for artists with experience in community enrichment projects. Activating Vacancy is an art and public interest design initiative in the Tenth Street Historic District, located in the Oak Cliff neighborhood of Dallas. Projects will investigate the history of the community, develop a physical and social framework for cultural activities, and plan for the renewal and growth of the neighborhood. Six collaborations will be proposed and implemented.The Initiative begins Fall 2013. Activating Vacancy is produced and curated by the bcWORKSHOP, a Dallas community design center in partnership with the Dallas CityDesign Studio, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Trinity Trust Foundation and local arts patrons.
