CALL FOR POSITIVE ACTION: Is Kasoa part of Ghana? I am asking - TopicsExpress

CALL FOR POSITIVE ACTION: Is Kasoa part of Ghana? I am asking this because there are no roads in Kasoa. Last week, it rained on Tuesday night and I used four hours (8.00 am to 12.00 noon) to travel from Kasoa to Abelenkpe to work. Why? The rain had brought down water, sand and gravel from a nearby hill onto the road which was on a low ground. The road was virtually blocked and there was no movement. The problem has persisted for several years and no action has been taken on it. There is an urgent need to construct a big bridge at the place to enable the water flow quickly to the dam across the road. This was not done by the contractor who constructed the Mallam – Kasoa road a few years ago but this can still be done. What was done was to construct a very narrow gutter at the area which has not solved the problem. I am wondering if the engineer and the contractor have been paid for their work. What is worrying is that, close by, there are eight toll booths which are open for 24 hours 7 days a week and 366 days a year collecting tolls. I bet one months collection can build a big bridge at the place to avoid this inconvenience and waste of man hours. But this is a temporary problem that arises only when it rains. However, more importantly, there is a more permanent traffic at the toll booths and nothing is being done about it. Some of us have proposed that the authorities move one side of the booths to Mallam or to Old Barrier so that they can increase the lanes on each side of the road at the toll booth to 6 or more as is the case on the Tema Motorway. In spite of the huge monies collected daily, the authorities have paid no heed to this suggestion. They will not listen to us yet they keep taking our money. The citizens of Kasoa, Winneba, Swedru, Cape Cast, Takoradi and other areas must, therefore, force the government to do something about the situation. However, there is an even more serious problem: There are no roads within Kasoa except the good roads that pass through the town to Cape Coast and Swedru. No single tarred road or even gravelled road. The Nyanyano road has oasis on it. I AM, therefore, CALLING FOR POSITIVE ACTION NOW! If by July 1, 2014, three clear months from now, nothing is done to address these problems, everybody who leaves in Kasoa should spend the holiday in Kasoa, the whole of July 1, 2014, to send a message to the authorities. All residents should also advise their friends and relatives not to visit them on July 1. Of course, there are unavoidable trips, which are understandable. If you support this idea, please, spread the message and STAY AT HOME ON JULY 1, 2014. ASK YOUR FRIENDS AND RELATIVES NOT TO VISIT KASOA ON THAT DAY! Buy all your needs on Monday, June 30. POSITIVE ACTION NOW! VITUS AZEEM
