~ CALL FOR SCORES ~ KHORIKOS, one of NYCs top a cappella choirs, is accepting a cappella score submissions for our 2nd Annual New Music Competition --- ORTUS. Please share with your composer friends ~!~ DETAILS: -send us your BEST work! A premiere is welcome but not necessary. -performance/recording dates will be announced along with the selected compositions on March 1st, 2015 -if selected, your music will receive meaningful aesthetic attention, not just a reading by vocal by elites. -1 submission per composer. Must be a living composer, otherwise no age limits. -KHORIKOS is a balanced 34 SATB voices. -15min max duration, though shorter works are welcome -submission deadline is February 1st, 2015 -any level of technical difficulty welcome. Simple and beautiful is also welcome. Your imagination is the limit. -the winning compositions will be performed at our home space: St. Anthonys in SoHo, NYC (2015 date TBD). SELECTION PROCESS: I will select 20-30 works from the pool of submissions (depending on the duration or the pieces), and the members of KHORIKOS will select the winning compositions from there. Therefore, sending a midi file or recording of your work is highly recommended.
