CALL OUT FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST CORROBOREE SYDNEY BLACK ARTS MARKET Saturday Nov 29 - Sunday Nov 30, 2014 CORROBOREE SYDNEY From Friday 21 to Sunday 30 November 2014, Corroboree Sydney will be presented for the second time in Sydney. The festival draws together nine of Sydney’s leading arts organisations, including Art Gallery of NSW, Australian Museum, Bangarra Dance Theatre, Blackfella Films, Koori Radio 93.7FM, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney, State Library of NSW and the Sydney Opera House. BLACK ARTS MARKET A key event in the program is the second Black Arts Market to be held on the weekend of Saturday November 29 and Sunday November 30, 2014, at a prominent city venue, to be confirmed. With the support of Regional Arts NSW, this market is intended to showcase the works of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and cultural entrepreneurs from across New South Wales. Invited stallholders will be able to display and sell their products, ranging from artworks, home wares and design, to bush foods, body products, and medicines, along with music and literature. GUIDELINES The Black Arts Market is a curated event and Corroboree Sydney is seeking EOI from artists and cultural entrepreneurs in the Sydney region and regional New South Wales. Groups of artists may also consider sharing a stall. As this is a subsidised event, applicants for Corroboree Sydney’s Black Arts Market need to demonstrate that their product is high quality and original and fully complete the EOI. Successful EOI will demonstrate a strong artistic and design aesthetic, with a pricing structure that reflects the context of a market. Products of an innovative nature are encouraged as well as work that focuses on traditional practices unique to NSW communities. SUPPORT FOR STALLHOLDERS Corroboree Sydney will provide financial assistance towards travel, accommodation and freight, where appropriate and at its discretion. Corroboree Sydney will also assist with insurance and the market stall will be provided at no cost to successful applicants. Corroboree Sydney does not retain any commission from sales. EFTPOS and credit card facilities will be available to assist stallholders with sales. Expressions of Interest should include background information and contact details. Images for each artist and a description of products, price range and stock levels must accompany all EOI. Expressions of Interest close on Friday May 16, 2014. Successful applicants will contacted on or before Friday May 30, 2014. ENQUIRIES For application forms please email [email protected]
