CALL OUT FOR HELP ON CAMPUS THIS WEEK!!….LETS GET ACTIVE Ok folks, this week 24th-30th March is MEAT FREE WEEK! (See meat free. org for more info). I have organised to get a Vegan Outreach resource called Your Choice, basically about different reasons to go Cruelty Free in your diet (and it isnt (i feel) pressuring people to go fully Vegan, but to explore what is right for them). It looks at health and animal compassion aspects mainly. I will attach a copy of the booklet for you to see. As you all know it has been a huge drama trying to get an Animal Protection Society up and running at Deakin due to requirements to get permission or approve EVERY flyer that would be distributed due to concerns about offending students!! Grrr. So Ive decided to go AWOL and work from the outside for now while I work out if or what can be done within the University System of red tape. Breath…So I will be distributing Your Choice during this week outside the Burwood Rd entry (where the tram is) off campus so the uni cant complain (or less likely) and also advertising Meat Free Week (with additional flyers) as Meat Free Week is a one attainable way of starting out on the journey). Is anyone interested in helping out? Any vegos or vegans? Any meat eaters that can vouch for reduction in meat for health/enviro/cruelty free reasons? Anyone who supports what is said in the VO flyers are welcome to help or PM me to discuss further :) Times wanted: (Pls post below when youre free, or other times too if you are willing) -8.30am-10am Mon-Fri -12.30pm-1.30pm Mon-Fri (these are the busiest times according to VO as they leaflet drop at other unis) I am new to leaflet dropping so we can start something new together. I will put up some tips ASAP regarding leafletting to encourage you all to help :) I will also put together an email listing for students to sign up for info re: the Compassion for Animals FB group at Deakin. Hope peeps can get involved. Otherwise it will just be me in a cow onsie all by myself-lol
