CALL TO ACTION! Corizon Health, a private for-profit company that makes $1.4 billion dollars a year off of sick prisoners, was just recommended by DC’s Office of Contracting and Procurement to take over the healthcare at DC’s jails. The “care” Corizon provides is the #StuffOfNightmares. Watch this clip (https://youtube/watch?v=L7vrwi0PzH0) from John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” explaining how Corizon poured sugar into a woman’s c-section instead of using antibiotics. We need to stand up and make it clear that #BlackLivesMatter. For the contract to take effect, City Council must first move for its consideration on WEDNESDAY. Committee Chair Tommy Wells has refused to do so, and has promised to vote to keep Corizon out. Call Council Chairman Phil Mendelson and tell him we do NOT want this contract considered!
