TASTE OF ABU DHABI CATERS FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY - From junior cookery classes to musical theatre and outdoor cinema screenings - there’s something for everyone! - Inaugural Taste of Abu Dhabi festival to take place 6 - 8 November 2014 The much anticipated inaugural Taste of Abu Dhabi is set take place between 6 and 8 November 2014 and includes an exciting programme of cookery classes, live entertainment and street performances designed to appeal to families with children of all ages. Set to hit the capital in just a few weeks time, Taste of Abu Dhabi is a must attend event not only for gourmet connoisseurs but aspiring junior chefs and mini culinary enthusiasts who will be able to participate in cookery classes, watch live demonstrations and meet their gourmet heroes. Plus with an impressive line-up of entertainment including an interactive Kids Zone, organised by Funky Monkeys, children’s mani-pedis, slides and a bouncy castle, there is something to keep everyone entertained! Children of all ages can also enjoy a live entertainment theatre which will showcase UAE’s talented street artists who will mime, juggle, unicycle, perform musical theatre and dance for visitors attending the world’s most popular al fresco gourmet event. In addition, visitors can attend outdoor screenings of classic family movies provided by VOX cinema and be wowed by a LED show as the days draw to an end. With a record list of participating restaurants - the largest number of restaurants to ever take place in a Taste festival launch, the line-up features local and international restaurants such as Avasa, Rozanah, Angar, Blue Grill, Sho Cho, Flooka, Belgian Beer Café, Safina, Koi, Ushna, Café d’Alsace, Carluccio’s, Caramel Lounge, McGettigan’s, Noodle Box, Turqoiz, Villa Toscana, Nolu’s Café and Burlesque Restaurant & Lounge. Chris Fountain, Managing Director of event organisers Turret Media, said: “Taste of Abu Dhabi is set to be an exciting addition to the capital’s event scene. With not only an impressive array of restaurants and top name chefs we are delighted to welcome families of all ages with a host of entertainment and activities including a street theatre festival, musical performances, bouncy castles and junior cookery classes. Taste of Abu Dhabi really is the perfect day out for the whole family!” The inaugural event is set to appeal to all tastes and ages with a wide range of activities planned, including a live music stage co-sponsored by Land Rover and McGettigans, a chefs’ theatre, themed bars, a cookery school and a VIP lounge. With world renowned chefs Jun Tanaka, Eric Lanlard, Steven Edwards, Reza Mohammed, Jenny Morris, Jonathan Phang, Josh Stanzl and young Emirati baking sensation Bader Al Awadhi set to delight visitors with live demonstrations, tastings and book signings. After the remarkable success of London’s pioneer Taste festival in 2004, many cities across the globe have welcomed the gourmet fiesta into their own homes too. This year, Abu Dhabi becomes the twentieth global destination to host the world’s most popular restaurant event. A number of high profile sponsors have already come on board to help spread the fun. Premier Motors, the official dealer for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, has signed Land Rover as the official vehicle partner and co-sponsor of the entertainment stage with McGettigans, as well as Etihad Airways as the official airline partner, Evian/Badoit as official water sponsor, SPG as the official hotel partner, and Abu Dhabi Week, Virgin Radio, OSN and BBC Good Food as official media partners. Taste of Abu Dhabi takes place at du Arena from Thursday 6 November to Saturday 8 November 2014. The festival will run from 4 – 11pm on Thursday, 12 – 11pm on Friday and 12 – 10pm on Saturday.
