CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS ENQUIRY WE RECIEVED...? Hi, my Great Great Grandparents James & Mary Anne Rooney lived in Tobermoney (on 1911 census). James was from Roneystown & Mary Anne nee McGivern was from Bright. I have census details & other documents to confirm this but I was hoping to learn some more about my Rooney/McGivern families. I have bits & pieces of info on my Rooneys that may help me find out more but I have almost nothing on the McGivern side of my family. Mary Anne is recorded as Anne also. I have found a Anne McGivern born in 1839 to John McGivern - right time frame but no idea if it is my Mary Anne. My Great Great Uncle James Rooney was known as poet in the area & had poems published & aired on radio. Hugh Rooney married Kitty ?? & they had a lemonade shop in Fountain Street, Downpatrick. Margaret/Maggie Rooney, my great granny (havent found her birth record). Maggie married Patrick Dempsey in Belfast in 1898. Are you related to me?? Can you help me learn more??
