CAN THE FUTURE OF NIGERIA BE TRUSTED IN THE HANDS OF HER YOUTHS ? The saying that: the youths are the future leaders have become a bye- word among youths today. The reason is because we have not been made to believe in the reality of that statement or maybe we as youths have not taking enough steps towards achieving that mandate. But that does not change the fact that the statement in itself is true. It takes a responsible citizenry to produce a responsible leadership. The level of responsibility demonstrated by the youths today is a preview of what to expect from the next generation of leaders. There is no future for any Nation that lacks a responsible youth generation. The youths must therefore defy all negative odds against her position as a stakeholder in nation building and take up the occasion. This begins with a mental shift; it begins with seeing things differently, talking differently and acting differently towards the positive. We must therefore wake up and take responsibility, we must decide to stand for what is right even if it means standing alone. A new Nigeria is a reality, but it can only be realized by new Nigerians.
