CANstruction 2013! The JETS (Junior Engineers) club members, advisor Mrs Vascotto, and other FA community members will again be involved in the CANstruction community service event to fight hunger. This is a design and build competition to construct fantastic, giant sized, structures made entirely out of canned food. In each city after the structures are built and the winners declared the creations go on view to the general public as giant art exhibits. At the close of the competitions all of the food used in the structures is donated to the local food banks for distribution to community emergency feeding programs. The Long Island competition is sponsored by LI Cares and they will be the recipients of the cans. The All-School Can Drive -- until Oct. 11th. Any check donations must be made out to: CANstruction. We are aiming for over 5,000 cans! We need YOUR help! The CANstruction build is October 23rd. Upper School and Lower School -- 15 to 16 oz. Green Giant Vegetables (any variety) UPPER SCHOOL: Deliver US cans to morning meeting locations. LOWER SCHOOL: A box will be set up on each floor of Lower School. Middle School -- 15 oz. Hunts Tomato Sauce MIDDLE SCHOOL: Deliver MS cans to MS Lobby.
