CARNALITY: > For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh;but they that are after the the Spirit the things of the Spirit. > For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Rom.8:5-6). > Carnality has nothing to do with the outward appearance of the believer but got everything to do with the way a believer thinks, believes and eventually behaves. > Many judge unrighteous judgement by being quick to pass their negative comments simply because they see a particular brother or sister dress in a particular way that is not appealing to us, or do a particular hair-style or something the denomination where he or she comes from does not believe nor condone. > Carnal believers set their minds on the law,on works, on themselves and their performances. They have the consciousness of the works of the flesh. This kind of unrenewed consciousness (thoughts or mindsets is an in-fertile soil for the seed of Gods Word and the Holy Spirit to flourish. It chokes and make the Word and the Spirit unfruitful. > Now,watch the spiritual mind/ man;his mind and affection are set on the things of the Spirit and not on the things of the flesh. The things of the Spirit are the truth about Christ and His accomplished works on the cross. He guides the believer into all the truth about his redemption in Christ. The Holy Spirit has a mandate from Christ to reveal Christ and His finished works on the cross to the believer. > The Spirit does not go out of the confines of of the accomplished works of Christ. He therefore reveals, reminds, convinces, guides and comforts the believer and assist or helps to change the believer in Jesus to conform to His image. Transformation has always been a product of revelation from the Word and the Spirit. The purpose of revelation is to flash divine light on a particular hidden truth already accomplished by Christ, and convince or persuade the believer to believe in order to become it.This is the job of the Spirit.
