CARPE DIEM - CEASE THE DAY Dream Theater loves long instrumental songs, but the lyrics are the substance in this epic track. Again drawing inspiration from pain, drummer Mike Portnoy uses his own loss of a loved one (his mother who tragically died in a plane crash) to urge us to take advantage of every oppurtunity in life. As deep as it is lengthy, A Change of Seasons inspires us to carpe some diem. -WatchMojo Dream Theater is my brother Will Hortons favorite band & favorite song of theirs. This song reminds me of Robin Williams film Dead Poets Society and the title for this bands songs are always appropriate. Their songs often make you feel like youre in some magical weird dream. They have a very atmospheric sound. Its safe to say that on a talent-level Dream Theater is undoubtedly one of the greatest bands of all-time. I know many critics and music fans would agree. Check them out if you love Progressive Rock or classic-style Progressive Metal. They are complex and brilliant.
