CASAC started a clearing operation inside the compound of the Capiz Archdiocesan Social Action Center from December 2 until today. Branches of huge trees were cut to avoid falling debris, construction materials for shelter and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH) were securely kept in the warehouse and other fragile areas. Transistor Radio, hand held radio and communications phones are charged. Trucks and cars are fueled for emergency responses. The partner barangays were warned about the incoming typhoon. They were reminded to prepare. In the afternoon, emergency staff meeting was conducted. The Director updated the staff about the weather forecast of Typhoon Hagupit and possible impact in Capiz. Staff were advised to prepare for the emergency response before, during and after typhoon. Committees were formed with respective duties and responsibilities. CASAC started to purchase load cards, rice, canned goods, garbage bags, plastic bags, batteries, candles, matches, lighters and fuel to gas up vehicles and generators. Chainsaws are being prepared for the operations. Some of delivers were cancelled and schedules in the afternoon of field facilitators were suspended. The CASAC Emergency Responders are ready to respond.
