CAST ALL YOUR CARES UPON HIM The word ‘Cast’ imply forceful ejection of something weighty to enlighten oneself. It is like a hot lava formed below the earth, with gas accompaniment, ready to vent molten volcano unto the earth’s atmosphere with power and force. It is like a court order, that compels a tenant to quit a room with haste because, he has exhausted the legally permissible time allotted and scaringly, a warrant Police presence to supervise the exit. A drowning person at his wits end, unconsciously employ extra-ordinary outflow of adrenalin from the adrenal gland to hold (with every might), his rescuer to avoid sinking – a picture of ‘cast’. In 1Pet5:7 is the scripture – “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”. Again!!, Heb12:1 has the ff:- “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us”. Do not forget about Jesus’ invitation to a distressed world in Matt11:28-30 :- “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light”. Because we deal with a God who provides over and above our expectations, there is no reason why we should keep to our chest part of what ails us, needless. In similar vein, ‘Our all belongs to Him” as a songstress Damita Haddon made us to understand. However in the history of the early church, Ananias and Sapphira decided by an act of reason that it did not pay to relinguish certain percentage of their belongings. I have come to the realization that when I cast what I have to Him it is a recognition that He owns all I have. I am his property(God of all flesh):- “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods”(1Corin6:19-20). For those who recognize God’s ownership of their total being, they view themselves as precious gem worth His regular usage. In God’s scheme of balancing the equation, they are called to perform what seemed to be unpleasant tasks at short notices. Philip stirred up the city of Samaria with the gospel of Jesus Christ only to be whisked away into a desert region to commune with one / only one Ethiopian eunuch(Acts8:5-40). Its like relocating your base from a vibrant Accra City church to superintend 30 Man congregants at Bongo in Northern Ghana. The Church of today is not lacking persons who are malleable. They do not lack the skills to making fair and objective analysis of situations(2Corin3:5-6). In 2Corin8:14-15 it is said of the Church that :- “But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack”. Indeed when the spirit of God overwhelms any person, he abounds in grace for every good work, for all the education/ skills/competencies without the adequacies of God(1Corin3:6) amount to ZERO – Psa127:1. A small boy’s pack of lunch of few fish & bread encountered Jesus in John6:5-12 and releasing all not part was a classic example of letting go unto God for bountiful results. There is some element of risk involved in entrusting what we have but if you count the faithfulness of Jesus, knowing what He does with faithful individuals, you become convinced that your investment will add more value & returns to your principal in all areas of one’s life (Matt25:14-29). In Jesus, God did cast His best to produce the best out of those who trusted in Him. How true was it?. The world’s Princes & Princesses are delivered in Hospitals of great repute but He that was discovered in a Manger was meant to exchange our weaknesses to place us on high pedestal for greatness. Apostle Paul was a type of God’s best. He saw himself as the least who God propelled to overtake all others – 1Corin15:9-10. Stay Blessed.
