CASTING BRIEF FOR PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE TEAM MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA PAID DANCE WORK FOR 15 YOUNG, ELITE PERFORMERS! National Institute of Performing Arts is a performance company looking for an elite dance team of 15 students between the ages of 7 and 18. The team will take part in paid corporate work, monthly training and conditioning classes with industry professionals and children’s show production tours in Australia and overseas. Commitment to the team will be a 4-6 hour training session one Sunday each month in Melbourne. There will also be additional gigs and tours throughout the year. Training sessions will include body conditioning, stretching and flexibility, jazz technique and dynamics, workshops with industry professionals (including singing and acting) and rehearsals for corporate shows/tours. The Professional Performance Team is an extension of the student’s dance school training and a chance for elite and talented students to gain experience for their resume, make industry connections and to work and train in an intensive, professional environment. All of the successful student’s dance schools will be credited. AUDITION REQUIREMENTS: All talent will be required to partake in a DANCE CALL first. Please wear appropriate, fitted dancewear and jazz shoes. If successful, talent will be asked to READ DIALOGUE from NIPA’s children’s show “The Dancing Toybox” and partake in a short interview with the audition panel. It is optional to bring a VOCAL SONG in any style (backing track only), if talent wishes to show their singing capability. Please bring a hard copy of your headshot and CV to the audition.
