She comes across a pile of photos of herself and friends from way back. She takes them outside and burns them. At church with her parents, she meets the ministers son, Zach, a shy boy about her age. Drawn together by mutual boredom and loneliness they begin to spend more and more time together collecting hymnbooks after church and taking photos with Zach’s old SLR camera. In his bedroom, she sees her picture among a collection of photos of Zachs friends, who all moved away. He asks if she has photos of her old friends, but she says she doesnt keep them. When her father is called back to the mission field, Cait’s inevitable departure draws ever closer. Will Zach be another photo she doesn’t keep? CHARACTER INFORMATION Cait / Female / 15-16 The daughter of missionaries, she has just moved back to Northern Ireland where she meets Zach. She chooses to forget the friends she leaves behind, rather than hold on to memories of things she has lost. Zach / Male / 15-16 The son of the local minister. With no other young people nearby Zach’s only friends are the children of visiting missionaries. He is an amateur photographer and keeps lots of photos of friends that have moved on and left him behind. Peter / Male / 40-50 Cait’s father. A missionary to eastern Europe, currently home in Northern Ireland on sabbatical. Dawn / Female / 40-50 Cait’s mother. A missionary to eastern Europe, currently home in Northern Ireland on sabbatical. Minister / Male / 40-50 Zach’s father. Minister of a small, rural congregation, mostly made up of senior citizens. Minister’s Wife / Female / 40-50 Zach’s mother. Married to the Minister.
