CASTING CALL PROJECT: RAVINIA DRILL – CROWD LOCATION: RAVINIA ROLE: NON-UNION EXTRAS TO PLAY RAVINIA LAWN TICKET HOLDERS DATE: MONDAY, 8/25 TIME: 7:45PM TO 9:30PM RATE: $30 plus food (after event) and 2 tickets to Ravinia that can be used on the 13th-15th of September, We are looking for participants to act belligerent and upset because of weather conditions. Ages, 18-96, Male/Female, All Ethnicity If you are selected, you will be sent a W-9 that needs to be completed ASAP, and a quick survey to complete your submission. What is this? Times are hard. Climate is a-changing. Rain pours, and quickly. Thunderstorms emerge with little warning. And patrons want their music. Ravinia needs people to act out a doomsday weather scenario so their staff can practice what to do if_________. You are the ones who will fill in the blank! What exactly is the job? There will be a brief introduction in the Dining Pavilion and orientation; you will enact being Ravinia lawn patrons unable to enter certain indoor venues which have already been filled (i.e. you are the person who missed the last lifeboat; or were the one cut off to enter the roller coaster) and you are being routed to an offsite shelter in the midst of a severe thunderstorm. You will be assigned roles e.g. belligerent, complacent, or angry, have a lost kid or be a lost kid. For about an hour or less you will act the living daylights out of your scenario, scream at their staff, cry, whine, (well give you specifics) until you finally become complacent and agree to be routed to the nearby school. What do I get in exchange for my awesome acting skills? -There is a $30 stipend provided, paid to you that evening by check. -Food will be provided following the event provided by Ravinia (you can also leave after, if you would prefer.) -2 tickets will be provided by Ravinia to each participant for one of the following events: Friday, September 12th: Poi Dog Pondering Saturday, September 13th: Classic Albums Live: The Beatles Abbey Road Sunday, September 14th: Five for Fighting (For more on concert information: ravinia.org. If you participate, youll sign up for tickets with them, so hang on to your awesome plans and let them know that evening!) Ravinia is easily accessible by train prior to and following the event. There is a Union Pacific North Metra Line train that leaves Ogilvie Transportation Center (NOT UNION STATION) at 6:44pm and arrives at 7:30pm at the RAVINIA PARK STATION (not RAVINIA). Another train leaves the Festival at 9:43pm from Ravinia Park and arrives at 10:30pm at Ogilvie Transportation Center (NOT UNION STATION). (Please note there are two stops - the Ravinia Park Stop and the Ravinia Stop - this is the Ravinia Park Stop, which will drop you directly at the park.) The cost is $5.25 each way.
