CASTING CALL: • Young Brian: 12-14, A kind but shy young man. Brian is deaf and has lived his life without the benefit of knowing sign language. At school Brian’s difficulty communicating makes him the target of ridicule. At home he is forced to speak, by his father, who believes it is the only way he will get by in the world. When he meets Vikky, a charming girl who teaches him sign language, suddenly things seem hopeful. However, Brian’s father is not happy with the idea of him no longer speaking. • Brian: 30’s, This strong willed, college professor is a deaf man who hasn’t spoken a word since the grade school where his poor speech made him the target of ridicule. Now with his mother dying and unable to wake up, Brian must put aside his convictions if he wishes to say goodbye. • Vikky: 30’s. A beautiful and charming woman. She is a loving wife whose support gives her deaf husband the strength to speak after 30 years of silence. (HEARING) • Young Vikky: 13-15 A cute young woman. Vikky is a hearing girl who uses her charm and knowledge of sign language to share the Deaf culture with a deaf boy who feels disconnected from the rest of the world. (HEARING)(CODA) We are auditioning actors this weekend and the KAZT facilities in Hollywood and still have space to to schedule people if they contact us soon. If they cant make it to auditions this weekend, we will be able to hold separate auditions this coming week in Studio city or in Orange County. We are shooting the last two weekends of October, so we are really on the hunt for actors who can accomplish these roles.
