**CATCH REPORT** New Team Member Adam Kirk has wasted no time using the bait and Stonze system to great effect. He has sent us plenty of good captures over the last few weeks from Borwick Fishing lakes. Here is his latest report, My session started, as usual, on a Friday, at Borwick and not wanting to just rush into a swim I had a drive round both sides of the lake to see if the fish were giving anything away. With no signs of rolling or crashing, all I could do was go with my gut instinct, and my previous session where I banked 4 carp and a new PB cat. My decision was made, and a few trips later with my gear, it was time to get some bait on the same spots from my previous session. I used a good spread of 18mm Jungle and Crave frozen boilies as my loose feed put out with my throwing stick. I tied up a few fresh rigs using the size 4 barbed The Hook and 25lb Steamlink to ensure I didn’t lose any fish this session. After baiting up with a mixture of Jungle and Crave I thought why not try both on the hair, after all I had nothing to go off so had nothing to lose. Darkness was soon upon me, and the wind had started battering my bivvy. With this forecast for 48 hours it wasnt going to be an easy session. The hours passed and daylight had arrived. I was awoken at 5am by the beautiful sound of my RS1 alarm going mental, but the fight was short lived and in the net quickly. I kept the fish in the sling until Kyle the site bailiff opened up. With a few pictures taken, the fish went back, and the rod along with some more bait was back on the spot. Nothing else happened for a while until around 8pm, when my alarm screamed again. This one was a little bit bigger and managed to take me in to the dreaded weed, few minutes had passed of me keeping on steady pressure and the fish soon came loose, it was off again like a train, but it soon lost its energy and gave up. This time I weighed it and scales only went as far as 12.12lb but it was another fish and I’d beaten the weed. I had a few beeps through Saturday night but it was only weed caught around my lines and the wind lifting them out of the water. I knew the weather wasnt going to improve so I just got my head down for the night. Sunday morning arrived, and the pressure was on, I had to get one more fish before I went home. I had around 3 kilos of boilies left so I wasted no time and got the stick and air dry bag, and fired the all of it over the left had rod where the other two fish had come from. It was now just a waiting game and wait I did. With 3 kilos of bait and a single cast at around 8am, I sat on my hands, there was no way that a fish in the area could resist that bait combo. Id waited long enough, I even lost interest. It was time to start packing my bags and boxes and have a war with my bivvy and the wind. Then, at 4pm, as I was folding my bed up the line started tearing off my left hand reel, sitting on my hands had paid off, BUT the fish had found a lump of weed, last fish of the day and it gets weeded up, just my luck. I kept pressure on and took a few slow steps back to try and free the fish, but it was no good, it wasnt moving, my heart was racing because I didnt have a clue how big the fish was, this could be the big girl. Over ten minutes had passed and still no sign of the fish coming free. Kyle the site bailiff and Ryan a site bailiffs son, came down and got me the boat, for every 10 foot of line I gained, the wind took 5 back off me. Not willing to give up, I gave it one last shot, and me and Kyle just paddled like loons, this time getting right above the fish. A slight pull and we had it, it was out and away, I fought the fish from the boat, and with a little help from the wind, I managed to bring the fish in close pretty quick. With Kyle on the net, he gave it a quick lunge, and the carp slipped over the cord. I had it and a big shout from us both ‘CUMMOOON’ I had managed to get that one more fish before heading home, and what a beauty. The fish wasnt overly big at just 19lb, but the fight, the boating experience and the condition of this fish was just the perfect end to a slow, and mental session due to the weather. Thanks for reading Adam Great write up Adam and stunning fish! Well done!
