CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF KITUI VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT JOB OPPORTUNITY JOB TITLE: Community Mobiliser DEPARTMENT: Development REPORTS TO: Food Security Coordinator Duty Station: Kitui Rural, Kitui south and Kitui East sub-counties PURPOSE: Under the guidance of the Diocesan Development Coordinator and direct supervision of Diocesan Food Security Coordinator, the Community Mobiliser shall be responsible for Cash for Assets programme activities’ Supervision and monitoring, specifically for efficiency and continuity of all assigned Project activities. Date of issue: 8th July 2014, closing date: 15th July 2014 • Guide the community in selecting project beneficiaries through community based targeting and distribution criteria and vulnerability levels. • Assist the community identify viable projects geared towards improving food security situations in their areas. • Co-ordinate and monitor the Protracted Relief and Recovery Operations (PRRO) Cash for Assets activities at the local level. • Together with the Relief committees fill work-norms forms and forward them to the relevant officers in time for beneficiary compensation. • Supervise distribution of tools and other deliverable items at the site and ensure recording is kept. • Conduct regular meetings with the Relief Committees, Line ministries, local administration and other development agencies in the respective areas to discuss project implementation and other relevant issues. • Prepare and submit on timely basis weekly and monthly reports to the central office on the progress of the project activities. • Undertake monthly Post cash Distribution Monitoring exercise. • Identify potential problems in the programme and discuss remedial action with project authorities or report to appropriate personnel • Perform any other related duties. Preferred qualification • At least a diploma in relevant field and a minimum grade of C Plain • Experience in implementation of Food for Assets activities • Computer literate • Ability to ride and with valid riding documents • Ability to communicate in local language • Good understanding of Catholic doctrines is an added advantage Interested applicants are requested to submit their CVs including contact details for three references and a covering letter explaining why they are best suited for this particular position.
