CCGS THURSDAY July 25, 2013 The Blood of Christ But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:13 After Paul had reminded the Ephesians of their position outside of Christ—without hope—he brought them back to their position in Christ. He brought them back to hope, which is only found in Jesus Christ. Notice, the value of our salvation and redemption is by the blood of Christ. It was not purchased with precious gold, silver, brass or anything else. We were redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ. We received this new and different life by being redeemed through the blood of Jesus Christ. It was only through the work of Christ in my life. In the Old Testament, they had to kill a lamb, bleed it, cut it up, put it in the fire and then take the blood and sprinkle it in the Holy of Holies, but it was only a covering. The sin was still there, but it was covered by the animal’s blood. The blood of Jesus Christ took my sin and cast it as far as to the east, to the west, and buried it in the deepest part of the ocean and He remembers it no more. Now, when God sees me, He sees me whiter than snow. The blood of an animal could not take away our sins; it could only cover it, temporarily. When people come to make an accusation against me, I say, “Hey, go talk to my lawyer, Jesus Christ.” Satan is always accusing. He is always bringing up everything I did in the past, but it is gone. It is no longer there. What great hope we have through the blood of Jesus Christ. One drop of Christ’s blood is worth more than heaven and earth.
