CESG Parents & Athletes - There still seems to be so much confusion and speculation regarding any changes at CESG - although that it what the parent meeting was about and could have cleared up your questions, the staff is once again going to be available this Saturday after the Awards Ceremony to help you make a decision! Below you will find the answers to some questions that seem to be swirling around the gym, and then you will see our schedule beginning June 1st. PLEASE come to the staff with your questions! Q: My child just competed with one of the Divas groups this year at TOP competition, will she still be able to compete next year with Divas if she is NOT on the Competitive Dance Team? A: In general, no. However she may be asked to do a group routine with the Competitive Dance Team as a guest if the coaches choose to do so! Q: My child just competed this year with Top Aces Hip Hop at TOP, will she still be able to compete next year if she is NOT on the Competitive Dance Team? A: Yes! We are going to a different competition that requires summer instruction, so she cant drop out for the summer. Q: My child just competed this year with Fly Chix Hip Hop at TOP, will she still be able to compete next year if she is NOT on the Competitive Dance Team? A: Yes! We are going to a different competition that requires summer instruction, so she cant drop out for the summer. Q: My child just compete this year with Sr Showstopper Poms at TOP, will she still be able to compete next year if she is NOT on the Competitive Dance Team? A: Yes! We are going to a different competition that requires summer instruction, so she cant drop out for the summer. Q: My child competed this year with either Sr or Jr Flippers Acro at TOP, will she still be able to compete next year if she is NOT on the Competitive Dance Team? A: Possibly, if the coaches choose to take an acro team to a dance competition (our groups did well this year). We will be doing 2 in house tumbling meets next year for sure! Q: My child competed this year with Spirit Stars or Top Stars cheer at TOP, will she be able to compete again next year at TOP or any other dance/cheer competition if she is NOT on the Competitive Cheer Team? A: No - all cheer competitions will be done by our Teams only! We may still choose a solo, duet, trio, small group etc to take to TOP in the Spirit Category, but that will be decided by the coaches. Q: My child did a solo, duet or trio this year at TOP, will she be able to compete a solo, duet or trio next year if she is NOT on the Competitive Dance Team? A: In general no, however the coaches can decide to invite you to do a solo, duet or trio! Q: My daughter wants to play other sports at school or in the summer, etc. Can she do that and still be on the Competitive Dance or Competitive Cheer Teams? A: Yes, if she can make all the practices (please read the attendance policy already provided, if you dont have it, then get it from the office!) Q: My daughter still wants to dance and/or cheer, but we cant make the time or financial commitment for the Competitive Teams. What should we do? A: Keep her in all of our regular classes just as you are in now! You will still perform all year long just as we do now, but you will not go to dance competitions unless invited! Your quality instruction will stay the same! Q: Teams are expensive, so I will not even consider doing them. A: Dont do that - there are 4 different fundraisers available & depending on how hard you want to work, you could fundraise the entire amount! Q: Can I get the quality of instruction from Cheers! at any other similar business locally? A: No, you cant! We are the best available here and are trying to make sure ALL of our students have options that best fit their lives and commitment ability. Please talk to us regarding your child and stop listening to others who do not understand the program! We have always tried to make the best decisions for our athletes and are still doing that!
