CFP: The Amphora Issue 2014 The Amphora Issue of MHJ was established in 2012 and we are now calling for articles and book reviews for the 2014 issue. The journal publishes refereed articles and book reviews from researchers who work in the areas of classics, ancient history, Egyptology and archaeology, both of pre-historical and historical periods. Postgraduates and early career researchers are especially encouraged to submit. The Amphora editorial collective works closely with contributors. Unlike most peer-reviewed journals, we are invested in helping authors to develop their work for publication and we provide feedback to all of our contributors. We also allow authors the chance to revise and resubmit their work before we determine which articles will undergo the peer-review process. This is the annual second issue of The Melbourne Historical Journal, which appears on the Australian Research Council’s ERA list for 2012. This means that all articles submitted to The Amphora Issue undergo a review process that accords with the standard prescribed by the Department of Industry. The Amphora Issue is published in a hardcopy format and is also available online through Gale Cengage, Expanded Academic and EBSCOhost. The online platform ensures that the content of our journal is accessible to the local and international scholarly community. Journal articles should be between 5000-8000 words and constitute an original piece of research. Manuscripts should not be under review or scheduled for publication by any other journal and should be substantially different from other published work. The collective asks that all manuscripts conform to our style guide, which can be found at . Book reviews of single books should be 1000 words in length; reviews of two related books should be 1500 words in length. The due date for submissions is Friday, 4th April 2014. Please send your submissions to the Amphora editorial collective via email at . Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any enquiries.
