You might also need to let folks know your work is FICTION for the most part, not strongly researched and routinely updated!! about an hour later: Philip Church to Stevie Conley Cousin Stevie - I have no idea what you are talking about My past postings, including excerpts from my book, have all been well received in the group - sparking great discussions and garnering praise for my research, expertise and authorship. I hope you have NOT removed my posting My postings do not violate any group rules as none are posted for the group. My research, including excerpts from my book, is absolutely ON TOPIC as clearly can be discerned by the groups title WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU? ? ----- The book has a 5 star rating on amazon and has NEVER been updated since after a problem with the first run ( less than 5 copies ) was discovered the first week the book came ‘online” & available a year ago. As for your comment characterizing it as “fiction” you’re entitled to changing from your original positive opinions to a new disdain, but such characterizations are purely unsubstantiated and can be HARMFUL TO THE REPUTATION OF THE BOOK as well as my PROFESSIONAL REPUTATION. I assure you I physically & legally possess to this day every “jot & tiddle” of the decades of research & work-product relied upon to write the book. This includes an enormous amount of materials legally released for my use from noted historians, contemporaries of “Devil” John Wright, “blood” relatives, genealogists and such notable experts as Patricia Brashear, whom you yourself have cited as a source for many of your own postings & comments Are you suggesting all of these folks and myself are defrauding people regarding our common famous ancestor? As you are aware, the book is touted for historical accuracy amidst all of the badly researched materials & misinformation which has surrounded “Devil” John Wright for over 150 years The veracity and historical integrity of my research and my book is something which I can, if need be, prove easily and to an overwhelming degree should circumstances arise forcing me to do so I don’t know why there is this sudden change in the regard ( or lack thereof ) you now seem to have for me. I’ve downloaded & reviewed all of our conversations going back to 11/04/13. As a result a few issues became obvious to me and I can’t see how having what I feel could be a heated phone debate would resolve those issues. From the very start last Nov. you expressed what is an APPARRENT RESENTMENTTO MY WORK & WORK-PRODUCT “DEVIL JOHN WRIGHT: His Life and Times.” I’m no psychologist so I can only guess what struck such a chord on your part. That being said, regardless of which variables has caused this, I am convinced that the impetus can only be petty in nature. My best guess would be a petty jealousy held because it was I and not you ( including whomever it is you consistently reference as “we” ) which managed to finally get a new, cradle to grave, biography written & published. Whether this is some sort of professional pettiness or you feel only certain folks ( relatives LIKE Nancy Wright Bays & Patricia Brashear ) should engage in writing & publishing about “Devil” John, rendering it as some rivalry among kin I cannot say. It’s simply petty regardless. The pettiness is revealed, not only by your nit-picking the smallest, most marginal details, but by deleting posts appropriate to the FB group, as there are no stated rules and/or guidelines for the group at present and my posts are100% on topic. I do not have a problem with and actually welcome critique, reviews and civil debate regarding the research, writing content & publishing of my book. However, your latest insults were PATENTLY FALSE and, if those or similar falsehoods, have been, are currently or will continue being published by you to others by electronic/digital media, written or spoken word it is THE LITERAL DEFINITION OF SLANDER, as I may suffer material loss, have my character sullied or my professional reputation as a writer & local historian damaged by your communicating such falsehoods. ~ Stevie Conley 7/23/14 9 hours ago Philip Church - havent read the full tome here. And there is evidently no need for a call. I regret that. Your work is FULL OF INACCURRACIES and should not be promoting it as some kind of research-based set of stories. You know this, too. The damage was done at the point of publishing. It will take a lot to correct your mis-representations. Bottom- line with no longer any intent for negotiations. DO NOT PUBLICISE YOUR BOOK ON THE GROUP’S PAGE FOR 90 DAYS!. Poetry and any new photos you may find are welcome. In NOVEMBER,YOU MAY ADVERTISE TO THE GROUP TWO TIMES, AND TWICE AGAIN IN DECEMBER. This habit of unsubstantiated false statements being made regarding my work is one Id continue to ask you cease from due to its SLANDEROUS NATURE! I thought this was the end, but then - - - - ON 11/ 09/ 2014 AS DIRECTED BY STEVIE, I placed one ad in the Bad John Group for my book in November. THE RESULT - - - HE BLOCKED ME FROM THE GROUP!
