CHECK IT OUT: Lexington Police are asking the public for help to win a police cruiser design contest that WE designed and installed! The department has entered its 2013 Ford Police Interceptor against several others nationwide to see which has the most functional and good-looking ride, according to a news release. Vote at the following link: bit.ly/RizqBH The new cruiser was introduced last year, when Lexington police started replacing its fleet of aging Ford Crown Victoria cruisers with the newer, sleeker and more fuel-efficient Ford Police Interceptor, which is based on the Taurus sedan. The vehicles, which cost about $26,000 apiece, were the first cruisers bought in Lexington since Ford discontinued its iconic Crown Victoria line. Most police departments, including Lexingtons, had relied on the time-tested Crown Victoria to form the bulk of their fleets.
