CHICAGO ACTORS STUDIO STUDENT SHOWCASE SERIES!!! Several times a year The Chicago Actors Studio produces series of One-act and full, 2-3 act plays in our comfortable studio theatre space. These professionally produced productions, fully costumed and artistically set, are comprised almost entirely of current & former CAS students, from our beginners to advance level training programs. These productions are an important part of the training here at CAS. They provide the student an opportunity to use what they are learning in the workshops before a live audience. They can then take what they had discovered through the process and focus on any adjustments needed when returning back to the classroom, moving then on even further in their training. Agents, producers, directors and various industry, “movers and shakers” are invited. They frequently attend these wonderfully entertaining events, getting a first hand look at the wealth of talent here at the school for future casting considerations. Family members and friends are also encouraged to attend, to show their support for the hard work, special talents and overall growth of the students, as well as for the arts in general. At the conclusion of the run of each series of plays, each cast member and crew receive a professionally produced DVD copy of their performance.
