CHICOS 1 YEAR ADOPTION ANNIVERSARY! Whilst I was in Miami this passed (on 26th January) and Im happy to say he was in a loving home, even if I was away (stalking his pics on my phone the whole week!!!). He stayed with Corina, his former sponsor at the dog shelter ~ the kind lady who showed me that beneath his gruff exterior was a HUUUGE softie looking for a loving home. When I got back from Miami he gave me a welcome home like I have ~ NEVER ~seen before! We bear hugged for over 15 minutes and Chico wouldnt let go for over half an hour!! I then dared to play with Corinas dogs and each time Chico would sit right in front of me as if to say No Your MINE!. Its been truly beautiful to see how our bond has developed, from him being weary in the beginning( (the first pic shows him as we drove home from the shelter) - jumping if I touched him unexpectedly, biting if I dared approach him at the wrong time, not letting me brush him or even put a harness on him. Now he is so affectionate I often cant believe it! People sometimes say hes so lucky to have found you but in truth its a TOTALLY 2 WAY thing!!! The amount of joy and love Chico brings me each day is too big to put in words that will do it any kind of justice :) Each time I look at him it also reminds me that the things we truly dream of DO come true. For nearly ten years I day dreamed of having my own cocker spaniel, and would even cross the street to be near ones I saw in town. The Cocker Spaniel Stalker! To have my own one at home, who is so calm, loving and smart is quite literally a dream come true. There are many cocker spaniels with a frenetic, chaotic vibe and I knew I wanted one with a peaceful, calm vibe. This is what I asked the Universe for... and its what I got. Happy Anniversary Chico and THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!!!! And friends still reading this, thanks for your encouragement and support along the way, I know its made a difference and I hugely appreciate it and YOU! Keep dreaming of the things you seek, they WILL COME! XXX
