CHILD IS THE FATHER OF MAN I live in a small nondescript - TopicsExpress

CHILD IS THE FATHER OF MAN I live in a small nondescript town.By small I mean that my town is not highly populated and people mostly live by working for living. This town is what you can call a economically-retarded,not too much of that youthpower, workng hands kind of bullcrap as they say, is not available in the town. I am a farmer , not what you can call a big farm but yes I can easily manage square meals. Out of the whole people living out here nearly half or more than half of them are of mature ,old age like 40 or above. My old parents also live with me, and though I want and take good care of them, sometimes there occurs a blunder or mistake which is not good. Still I try to arrange for giving comfort and care, and I am not making excuses for shortcomings and neither my parents complain. But when I reflect on conditions of other old people I see that they are not that lucky . Often old people end up at old age homes care-homes or in worst possible conditions they are left on the road by their children . And everybody knows how much real CARE!! do these care-homes managment do give to these poor old-people. What I said earlier, that my town is comprised of 60% of old-people that is so, but rest of them are obviuosly not old , and children here are very bright and caring or so I might like to think. Indeed these children or rather teenagers are not that ignorant towards thier living circumstances, . Live itself teaches you how to live right? But back to plight of old people ,this last instance is quite a good one and indicates that future of my town is indeed bright. Across the street from me lives a man whom you might call highly ambitious. He is always complaining about lack of oppurtunities here and how he would like to soar to sky-heights if given chance to prove himself. Of course his planning was all based on capital money he would get from selling his land. But one thing that was dragging him down was his old-age mother who was very feeble and sick and reluctantly he took care of her and; who will not allow him to sell the land. But one day in heat of moment he thought of taking drastic action measures because apparently he did not wanted to waste his whole life here taking care of his mother . He decided to take her mothers thumb impressions on blank papers and tell her that they were her health papers. This done he went to attorney and got them to fabricate these papers as papers to sell her land. This news went off like wild-fire all over the town but no body couldve possibly done anything about as her land including their home were being sold by her own son rightfully . A group of children was highly disturbed learning this and consulted elders to do something for the poor old woman, but the elders were also helpless because they had no evidence against son ,so children just decided to go to her and comfort and tell her that they will care for her and build her a hut and take care for her daily. The old lady was touched by all this and asked a boy to fetch her old husbands diary and read something to her from it as she cant read. By luck or chance the boy noticed a plain white paper sticking out of some books near the diary . He at once guessed that it be an extra one of papers that the son used to take her thumb-impression on.He went straight to elders and told them all , they went to the old woman and took a fresh thumb-impression of hers adjacent to previous one and saw that they were exactly same. They had got the evidence they had been lacking and now they can get back the old mother her right. So thats how these bright children saved the old woman from being evicted.!!
