CHINESE ASTROLOGY UPDATE – 7/7/14 – 7/9/14 METAL GOAT Moon Sixth MOON 2014 “Wealthy Goat” Metal Goat moons offer gentle progress and naturally produce logical outcomes (work = success). This month is good for social gatherings, iced tea in the backyard and a bit of gossip. The qi of the Metal Goat moon has an innocent quality that cannot cope with vigorous enemies so it is best not to invoke danger (poor planning, superficiality). In the first two weeks we are vulnerable to harsh retributions, sudden, acute illness and forgetfulness but this quiets down in the second two weeks. It is a good moon for big social weddings. Children born in this month will be supportive of their parents. During this moon even strong people may have kidney disharmonies. It is NOT a good month for taking exams, entering retreat or traveling alone in unknown or wild places. Slight Heat Qi Node Yang Declines FIRE “Small or Shrinking Heat” In Slight Heat qi node Yang begins its inevitable decline but growth is extended. It is a time of mild heat that appears as the yang of the year begins its decline. The weather should turn mild. Fruits and vegetables are abundant. Cicadas and crickets chorus day and night. Twilight is beautiful. Fields bulge with the abundance. It is a time when the legacy of the annual Yang is determined. Is it to be survival at any cost (brutishness) or elegant majesty that steps down in the fullness of time (wisdom)? It is the time when many plants extend their qi to produce strong roots and fertile seeds (create future). Fall harvests will dependent on this qi node being mild. Mild winds can clear damp (avoid mold). Contagious diseases that “rode the hot wind” in the Summer Solstice now take root. Anxiety may crowd into dreams. During this qi node qi is best at 1pm. When you wake practice neigong facing due south. Do not overexert yourself (sweat); let the qi move the blood and transform nutrients. Dress lightly, cut your hair and stroll about to avoid the damp heat. Chew well. During the day eat two meals, rest (nap) after lunch, snacks of fruit (melon) are good on hot days. As before, drink green and chrysanthemum tea and in the evening enjoy a light savory soup. Guard the heart (shen) from strain by modestly expressing your feelings – it is natural to feel a bit anxious (sudden decline of yang) – but avoid drama/anxiety. Before bed bucket bathe (cold salt rinse) and go to sleep just after dark. Rest, relax, travel (vacation by sea), exercise and do not get burned by the sun. Do not work or rest directly in the sun of midday!!! Mon July 7 – 6th moon/11th day BOW/Complete The qi of the day is grand due to previous causes coming to fruit rather than industry or work of any kind done today. A clear mind and open heart (without idealism or expectations of any kind) will celebrate success and generosity. Being focused is ok but what passes for focus these days is often obsession and desire – the qi of the day is not fooled – it belongs to sincerity and the natural outcomes of appropriate labor. Empty-headed/hearted notions of entitlement not only have no fruition today but they will also obstruct accounts payable, so to speak and invoke tremendous conflict. If you have an open and positive attitude the qi of the day is auspicious to start new job, get married, acquire property, shop, make offerings, banquet (prepare healthy food) and enjoy music/art/film. It is particularly auspicious to do divination, make ancestor offerings (grave visits) with pure gratitude, practice ritual, meditation and support your employees (give bonuses). Those around you with loyalty and intuition should be thanked. Archery will sharpen your senses and intuition. It is inauspicious for entering retreat, digging graves, embarking on long journey, fasting or belated apologies (make matters worse). Let the worst of circumstances be a well-learned lesson. In Bhutan they will be celebrating the birth of Padmasambhava. The Spleen and Pericardium channels are open. Herb treatments are enhanced. Food cures are enhanced. Stress, sudden onset (wind), headaches, edema, high fever and depression should respond to treatment. Spleen 1 and 5 are open 9-11am. Bladder 62 is useful all afternoon. Carpal tunnel syndrome responds to treatment. Use wrist and ankle rotations in your exercise routine. Avoid nose jobs. Prepare your own light supper. Tue July 8 – 6th moon/12th day WINGS/Harvest The qi of the day follows yesterday in continuing good result from previous causes and requiring no effort. Conventionality, cautious compliance and loyalty offer a big payoff. Just as the garden seems to be growing with effortless harmony so should we gather together to celebrate the growth and flowering of past effort. Consult the oracle and comply no matter what it suggests. It is an auspicious wedding day for partners realizing longevity together. It is auspicious for business mergers. Like yesterday it is advantageous to start a new job, reward employees and enjoy the arts. Money will flow – you can spend and acquire interest on loans. Studies and medical treatments go very well. Everything can go belly-up if you compulsively decide to innovate, break taboos and/or go it alone. Like a single seed that bolts but never ripens, disaster like this is not in any way blocked but is simply the result of habit (negative previous causes). Gambling and exaggerating your skill will invoke long-term failure and loss of reputation. Embarking on long journeys will require artful dodging of hindrances. The Large Intestine channel is open. Large intestine 4 lights up 3-5pm. Lung 7 is useful from 1-3pm. Grounding treatments aid all patients. Eye/vision problems respond to treatment. Hypochondriacs do not respond to treatment. Progress in chronic conditions can be suddenly and completely lost from patient lack of compliance and changing modalities and/or physicians. Wed July 9 – 6th moon/13th day CHARIOT/Open The goodness found in convention over the last few days shows itself to be a circle of simple yet matured cause and effect. At the deepest level there is a feeling of solidity (authenticity) today related to good fortune no matter how mysterious life gets. There is an air of satori or breakthrough that exposes a true circle of life rather than an abstract tangent of liberation. Just carrying on loses it monotony and the heart/mind can find new and fresh starts. With a touch of modesty to sharpen the auspice the day has splendid, matured and abundant qi for building, remodeling (Commemorative day for Lu Ban, god of builders), purchasing transport (brings longevity), landscaping, fengshui indoors and out, decorating, signing contracts, going to court, travel of all sorts and business in general. Routines produce exceptional results. Perseverance definitely furthers. Burying the dead gives them great peace. Weddings today will produce happy families. It is inauspicious to hide, enter retreat, procrastinate or postpone. The Lung channel is open. Breathing exercise is gloriously enhanced. Treatments for mothers and children are enhanced. Releasing blockages is enhanced. Digestive obstructions can be easily released. Use Kidney 6 and Lung 7 from 9am-1pm. Massage and bathe the feet. Go for an early-evening-after-dinner walk.
