CHINOOK SCHOOL DIVISION SPORTS REPORT Submitted by Deb Reamer, Athletic Coordinator @swacsports The high school basketball season has come to a close with Hoopla. The annual event, hosted by SHSAA, has population categories between 1A-5A gather at one city to contest the championships. The top 4 boys and girls teams in all categories gathered on March 13-15 in Regina to vie for the provincial titles. Our lone representative from the Southwest was the Shaunavon Silhouettes. The girls were ranked #3 going into the championship and took on #2 Wynyard in the first game Friday. The Silhouettes lost by a score of 75-55. This put them in the bronze medal match Saturday against Langham. The girls kept it close until the 3rd quarter. They were only down 3 (40-37) but the Langham team pulled away in the last quarter to win the game 62-46. Our athletes and coaches will now turn their attention to badminton and track – the last two sports in the high school calendar. Badminton playoffs will start in April.
