CHIPINGE town was recently left basking in the glory of successfully hosting its first ever talk show, the Mai Chisamba Show, recently. Mrs Rebecca Chisamba’sChipinge recordings was facilitated by Plan Zimbabwe. Scores of residents graced the occasion and expressed gratitude to the organisers for according them a rare opportunity to be featured in a talk show on national television. Mai Chisamba, who was also inChipinge for the first time, was swept away by the town’s beauty. Said Mai Chisamba: “This is my first time inChipinge and it is a beautiful small town with favourable weather conditions.” Her talk show focused on the issue of the girl child since a number of girls in the district face a plethora of challenges ranging from abuse to early marriages. The district also has a high number of school dropouts due to early marriages. Mai Chisamba encouraged girls who were forced to drop out of school to consider taking up their education again as there is always a second chance in life. The talk show was attended by prominent businesspeople among them Mr Gonye,Chipinge District Administrator, Mr Edgars Seenza and education officers. They all contributed and encouraged school dropouts to go back to school.
