CHOSEN BY GOD! “You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus…” Gal 3: 26 (pmu for 9.4.13) It is my conclusion that most of the time when we hear or say that we are sons and daughters of God that we are unfortunately underwhelmed. What I mean, is that we often fail to be struck by the magnitude of our position. Many people get all filled with emotion and pride when they hear “God Bless America”, or the “Star Spangled Banner” or “I’m Proud to be an American.” This matter of being sons and daughters of God is way, way bigger than being an American. If you were born an American it was simply because your mother gave birth to you on American soil. Don’t misunderstand – I, too, am proud to be an American. But to become a son or daughter of God is special indeed! It takes a distinct action by God. He chooses us to become His children! Do you realize that we who hold faith in Jesus Christ as our Savior have a higher place in heaven than the angels of God? It’s true – as God’s adopted children we are loved by God, cared for by God, rescued by God, and will spend eternity as a valued member of His holy family.
