Nov. 27 w/KILLER JOE FERRARO Rockaway Beach, NY _______________________________________________ Chris Carter: guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, teacher Chris Carter has performed in nightclubs, concerts and festivals throughout the U.S. and Europe leading his own group, The Chris Carter Band, or backing up such legendary artists as Marcia Ball/Irma Thomas/Tracy Nelson, Johnny Billington, Solomon Burke, Lester Chambers (of The Chambers Brothers), Chubby Checker, Joey Dee, The Drifters, The Dubs, Eddie Floyd, T-Model Ford, Roy Gaines, The Ink Spots, Johnnie Johnson, Earl King, The Marvelettes, The Mohegan Sun Allstars, Sam Moore (of Sam & Dave), Kenny Neal, Martha Reeves and The Vandellas, Reverend Zen, Percy Sledge, Ronnie Spector, Hubert Sumlin, Howard Tate, Rufus and Carla Thomas, The Uptown Horns Revue, and Andre Williams. Chris has also opened shows for Chuck Berry, Bobby Blue Bland, Lonnie Brooks, Shemekia Copeland, Robert Cray, Bo Diddley, Robert Gordon, Ben E. King, Mitch Ryder, Boz Scaggs, Pete Seeger, The Ventures, and Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul and Mary). Hes written, arranged and produced recordings for himself (Night Shift”, with Bobby Harden) and others, been featured on National Public Radios syndicated program, Portraits in Blue, and contributed an original tune, Aint Got No Home, to NBCs critically acclaimed prime time show, Homicide: Life on the Street. Also, he played in the off-Broadway hit musical “Love, Janis”, the life story of legendary blues-rock singer Janis Joplin.
