CHRIST - OUR MEDIATOR Because of Christ, people could now touch - TopicsExpress

CHRIST - OUR MEDIATOR Because of Christ, people could now touch God, and be touched by God. Another huge key to understanding the Oneness message is the biblical teaching of the purpose of God coming to us in the person of Jesus Christ: 1 Timothy 2: 5, 6 For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time, Jesus became our mediator - the link between God and man. People had gone astray and lost communion with God, but the man Christ Jesus was born to intercede on our behalf. Because of Christ, people could now touch God, and be touched by God. The primary purpose of Christ on earth was to restore our relationship with God. He paid the ransom to free us from our death sentence for sin. That ransom was the precious blood of the Lamb. 2 Corinthians 5: 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Romans 5: 8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (See Romans 5: 7 – 9) Jesus was the “bridge” by which we could re-connect with God. God came to us through Jesus Christ; and we now come to God through Jesus Christ. Jesus was not a separate person from God. The only distinction is the body of Jesus, and the Spirit of God. God was in Christ; The Spirit was in the body; The Father was in the Son. (See John 14: 10, 11) Jesus became the visible manifestation of God in the New Testament. While you cannot see the Spirit of God, you can see His glory in the face of Jesus Christ: Colossians 1:15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. John 1: 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (See John 1: 1, 10; John 1: 17 – 18) John 14: 7 – 9 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? (From If I Had One Hour To Tell You About One God) @Back on Track Bible Studies - Rick Flores
