CHRIST; THE CHURCH DOCTRINE COLOSSIANS 1:28 - Him we preach and proclaim, warning a and admonishing everyone and instructing everyone in all wisdom (comprehensive insight into the ways and purposes of God), that we may present every person mature (full - grown, fully initiated, complete and perfect) in Christ (the Anointed One). Doctrine has been more controversial in the body of Christ today, that is the Church. Many have coined out different doctrine from the Scripture, but this has done little or no help to the body but rather a division. Church that should be overcoming, has now become passive due to factions in different beliefs. The word Doctrine means Teaching. Then the question is what is given to the church to teach? From the text above, the church is given to preach Christ and the aim is to present every man fully grown in Christ. Whatever we hear constantly is what we grow into. God is responsible for causing the growth; For Paul planted, Apollo waters and God causes the increase but this would not take place without presenting the right message (Christ) that brings about the growth. Church is not given to teach method, things or formulas but the Church is given to teach a Person (Christ). Hebrews 7:16 talks about the priesthood of Christ after the likeness of Melchizedec according to the power of an endless life. The life of Christ carries power, the more we grow in Him then the more power we can exercise to change circumstances in and around us. According to Ephesians 3:10, the church is to teach the manifold wisdom of God to principalities and power in heavenly realms. Christ is the wisdom of God (1 Cor. 1 :24). Without the comprehensible insight about Christ, then the church cannot handle principalities and power. Righteousness is not a doctrine but a Person, Wisdom is not a doctrine but a Person, Holiness is not a doctrine but a Person (1 Cor.1:30), Faith comes by hearing Christ, Life is not a doctrine but a Person (1 John 5:11-12) and all find fulfillment in Christ. Man does not create purpose but discover purpose in the heart of the Creator. Life is not mans institution neither is the church but God did. And none of these two are operated by mans senses but God, the Creator. Fix your mind on Christ and all that He has accomplished for you, confess them always and act on every of His instructions. This is your duty in God unto a perfect man in Christ. God bless you. FURTHER READING: COLOSSIANS 1:14-27, 2 JOHN 1:4-12 LIKE THIS PAGE on.fb.me/16kDyBq
