**CHRISTMAS CALENDAR - 4 December** Risengrød (Rice porridge) Risengrød is a traditional dish in Denmark during Christmas. You eat it warm with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon on top and a dollop of butter. Here is a recipe for you to try! Ingredients ( 4 persons): 3 dl rice (it must be ”grødris”) 1,5 L. full cream milk (sødmælk) 0,5 - 1 teaspoon salt 50 gram butter Cinnamon sugar for topping: 4 table spoons sucker 2 teaspoon cinnamon And it works like this: Place the milk in a pot and bring to the boil. Add rice and stir until the milk is boiling again. Turn down the heat and let the porridge boil over low heat for about 45-60 minutes (with the lid on). Stir often to make sure the milk does not burn, especially the last 30 minutes. Season with salt when the porridge is finish. Mix sugar and cinnamon together. Serve the “risengrød” warm, sprinkled with sugar/cinnamon mixture and place a dollop of butter in the centre on the top. Enjoy:) Listen to Nissebanden singing about “Risengrød”
