CHRISTMAS EVE RAIN Round 2 is starting to take shape across the Gulf Coast as copious amounts of moisture are being drawn northward. That rainfall will arrive here a few hours before dawn on Christmas Eve. Strong southerly winds in the upper levels of the atmosphere will also bring in near record warmth with temps rising through the 50s during the day and hitting 60 near evening. Overall we are looking at 3/4 to 1.5” of rain with this event. It will be wet all day long with heavier periods from time to time. In general expect poor drainage flooding (underpasses), ponding on roads and definitely delays. Rain lasts through the evening/night for anyone out attending services and only tapers off just before dawn on Christmas.
