CHRISTMAS FIRE SAFETY Every year without fail on the Northern Beaches, a Fire Station is responded to a residential home due to a fire that has started as a result of Christmas celebrations. This year, Narrabeen Firefighters want to see zero fire related calls when it comes celebrating over the festive season. Right about now families are purchasing and decorating their Christmas trees with the help of their families. One item that is usually placed on the tree is the humble decorative set of lights. Please take the time to ensure that the lights are in perfect working order and dont overload any power cord extention boards that you might use. Also, turning your lights off when you go to bed will reduce the chances of a fault setting fire to your tree. As you will see in the video, it can only take a minute for your tree to be fully alight.
