CHRISTMAS LED TO CALVARY To a stable, mean and lowly, came the One, Righteous and Holy. The gift of God, His Beloved Son, through Whom the greatest victory would be won, Because Christmas led to Calvary. His mother and father, standing near, had been told by angels “do not fear, of the Holy Spirit the child is conceived. The Messiah, the Redeemer.” This promise they believed. But did they really and truly know that Christmas would lead to Calvary? Shepherds heard the message and came to see if what the angels had told them could really be. This little child, born to be King? Who would have expected this marvellous thing. They bowed and worshipped Him, but did they see that Christmas would lead to Calvary? To the Wise Men living in lands afar God provided the brightest, guiding star. For two years they travelled and gifts they brought, but did they know what would be wrought when Christmas led to Calvary? Christmas, time to celebrate God’s precious gift. A babe in a manger, God in flesh lived. Jesus is the name the angel gave, He died, from sin mankind to save. When Christmas led to Calvary God’s plan of salvation includes you and me So let us rejoice and give thanks: We can live for eternity because Christmas led to Calvary (JANET FRENCH 2004)
