CHURCH 101: The Truth About Tithes The tithes, 10% of your income, is supposed to be brought to the church as a store house for hardtimes and to take care of orphans and widows... if a church has 1,000 members and the average income is 60k...10% 6,000/ person in tithes...THAT IS 6,000,000 dollars per year for that church... NO ONE SHOULD BE HUNGRY. NO ONE SHOULD BE EVICTED. ETC....but when you got a mortgage on the 12 million dollar building, thousands in power bills, sound equipment, dressin the pastor and his cars...AINT NOTHIN LEFT FOR THE NEEDY!!! save that bs about dont worry about what the pastor doing. if you invest money into a retirement account, you better be concerned about what they doin with the money... CHURCHES ALWAYS LAY OUT WHAT MEMBERS SUPPOSED TO DO...imma lay out what the pastor supposed to do
