The CIFC Gold Cup will be awarded to the team with the heaviest total weight of fish caught during the 12 hours of fishing over the 2 day event. In addition, the top 3 teams will be winning gold, silver & bronze CIFC medals, similar to what are awarded to ice fishermen who compete in the World Ice Fishing Championships. The top 15 teams will also be taking home money & prizes. Many of the teams below 15th place will be receiving the latest in ice fishing products donated to the CIFC by the many Sponsors who support this national event. The CIFC also recognizes many other entries: Including oldest angler, heaviest fish species weights & farthest travelled team + many more. Maybe best of all, the CIFC is also an educational opportunity to learn about the incredible evolution of ice fishing equipment & techniques. Anglers that come to pre-fish will likely rub shoulders with some of Canadas most recognized ice fisherman, many of which will provide an insight to what it takes to become a successful ice fisherman. - The CIFC is open to the first 100 registered teams with the early bird registration closing at midnight on December 31st, 2014.
