CILK was formed in April 2002 to support the positive promotion and uptake of Direct Payments and Independent Living for Disabled People living in Kent. They can help with queries about: Independent Living and Direct Payments, Personal Budgets, Support Planning, Help recruiting and employing Personal Assistants, Direct Payments admin & payroll, Advocacy, Peer Support, Benefit Information, Blue Badges, Getting Aids & Equipment, Property Adaptations. The current Directors are all disabled people with differing impairments. Five of them are Personal Assistant employers. They positively support KCC Social Services on their increased commitment to the governments Direct Payments strategy.
