CINEMAS FORGOTTEN LEGENDS SERIES: I thought that it would be fun to post an article here at the CFLH dedicated to those awe-inspiring talents who were deemed underrated by critics and most but rightfully deserve a cinematic recognition all their own because of their selfless contributions that they gave to classic film lovers all over as well as a profound appreciation, respect and admiration for their craft. I created this series on my Classic Film Union profile page at tcm so to me this was such a pleasure to work on especially knowing that there are many more actors/actresses who genuinely deserve to be remembered always; todays cinematic spotlight goes to one of my personal favorites from Hollywoods Golden Era in films and to me a masterfully talented character actress in her own right...the brilliant and endearing Oscar nominated Thelma Ritter. No words could begin to describe her talents but I have to say that there were truly many great film performances that Ive really enjoyed her in including Rear Window, Pickup on South Street, All About Eve and of course The Mating Season just to name a few!! For me they may have been forgotten by some but not to those who continue to fully value the impact that these multi-faceted individuals have made in our lives as classic film and television lovers!
