CITIZEN ADVISORY: A domesticated mountain lion was reported missing early this morning from a business on Richland Avenue West in Aiken. Officers responded Aquarium Pets and were notified that a pet mountain lion was missing from the location. The animal, described as black in color, weighing approximately 100 pounds, and three feet tall, was wearing a dog harness when it was last seen. The owner advised officers that the animal has been declawed. Citizens are advised NOT TO APPROACH the mountain lion and to call 911 if they come in contact the animal. The circumstances of the disappearance are still under investigation. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources has been notified of the disappearance.
