CITIZEN Q: Heading out west for work is nothing new here. According to Stats Canada, last year about 20,000 people packed their bags and left Nova Scotia for other provinces. We did get 15-thousand people to move here so it’s not all out-migration. But, here’s the thing, a new Ipsos Reid poll claims most of us don’t want to move for a job. 90% of people asked don’t want to leave family and friends for a paycheque. What would it take to get them to call in the movers? According to this survey, a 20% pay hike and all moving expenses paid for. Would you leave Nova Scotia for a job?
