CIV-I-LIZE /ˈsivəˌlīz/ verb bring (a place or people) to a stage of social, cultural, and moral development considered to be more advanced. synonyms: enlighten, edify, improve, educate, instruct, refine; In a conversation with some brilliant MGT yesterday on the topic of healing, it occurred to me that a fundamental medicine (Substance) most people and places in the world are lacking is CIVILIZATION. When and if you simply look at the above Oxford Dictionarys definition of the word civilize as a verb you will began to see where we are all failing to bring civility by LOVE to our worlds and all of our interpersonal relationships. As a member of the Nation Of Islam under the teachings of my Father the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, we are taught of the DUTY of the civilized which is teaching KNOWLEDGE, WISDOM, UNDERSTANDING and HIGH SOCIETY of not only Black people but of the HUMAN FAMILY of the planet earth. In this world we live in, the term civilized is often identified with money, wealth, titles and positions fueled by a capitalistic mindset that creates a society of extremes. The haves and the have-nots. Last week I visited with Doctors and friends in Cuba. As I was visiting this historic Cathedral at the Morro, I made time to make a new friend on the steps of this church. She is a black CUBAN woman born with a severe curvature of her spine. She had recently undergone a surgery in an attempt to correct the problem but still was abandoned by her family. Very few people endevour to LOVE people with disabilities and or simply the poor. I LOVE THE. ALL! This was the highlight of this trip, meeting this beautiful soul and preaching to her from tears to a big smile reminding her how much ALLAH (GOD) Loves her.. and so do I. CUBA is a very unique place and a must see, experience and learn from culture especially in contrast to a capitalist nation only 90 miles to the north called the United States of America. I would prefer to be mocked, hated, persecuted even killed trying to lift humanity than to live as a coward amongst them. As I am blessed to travel on the earth amongst different peoples I try not to pass a single soul without expressing some LOVE in the arrogance of the day. :-)!
