CJI is hiring for the part-time position of financial analyst. The Financial Analyst will be responsible for advising the Executive Director and Finance Committee regarding financial decision-making, budgeting, forecasting, etc. as well as completion of all financial reporting and producing timely statements for the agency. Key Responsibilities: - Advise the Executive Director and Finance Committee regarding financial decision-making, budgeting, forecasting etc. - Attend Leadership Team and Finance Committee meetings as deemed necessary. - Oversee Purchase Request system. - Process all receipts (enter into the accounting software to preparing deposit book and take to the bank for deposit) - Process all payables (enter into the accounting software to prepare payments) - Prepare invoices as requested and as per contracts (need to review/be familiar with contracts) - Prepare bi-weekly payroll along with deductions, EHT and WSIB remittances - Prepare T4s - Prepare T3010 Registered Charity Information Return - Maintain updates regarding staff changes and government basic exemption changes - Bank reconciliations - Produce monthly financial statements in a timely fashion. Work together with the Leadership team to tailor user friendly individual program statements. - Complete annual budget submissions of applicable ministry contracts - Complete quarterly ministry contracts’ financial reporting and annual TPAR. - Perform all tasks associated with quarterly RRSP payouts - Process quarterly United Way payroll donation payout - Reconcile program and agency budgets and enter into accounting system - Report HST semi-annually - Prepare for year-end audit and supply all information, materials, questionnaires, etc. as required by the auditor. Skills, Competencies and Requirements: - Diploma or certificate in bookkeeping or financial management along with 2-3 years relevant experience, preferably in a non-profit setting - Proficiency in the use of computers and software applications (including QuickBooks and Excel) - Excellent time management skills, accuracy and attention to detail - Understanding of accounting principles and standards for Smart Justice Network of Canada - SJNC - Understanding of provincial and federal reporting standards - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work - Understanding of Restorative Justice principles - Police Reference Check This posting will be open until January 16, 2015 at 12 noon.
