CLARITY Several East African people have confronted me about constantly bashing Swahili as an Arab-invented slave language that bastardizes Bantu and was forced on Africans 1,000 years ago (only slaves originally spoke Swahili as a way of telling them apart from free Blacks). Their rage towards me is similar to when my Black American (*I am adopted/raised by Black Americans) became upset when I used the word niggerstock to describe our self-hatred as Blacks worldwide. SOME Black Americans took that as a personal affront by an Uppity African. I apologized to my Black American family nationwide and tried to explain to them what I mean and that my intent was to label self-haters. I WAS WRONG to be so insensitive and not consider that my comment would be hurtful to my loved ones who speak Swahili. I come from Sudan and I have many loved ones in Kenya and other nations who speak Swahili. They KNOW me personally, so they would understand what I am saying. But most people do not know me...so this comment might sound like an insult. I am very sorry and I hope that you can forgive me. I should have mentioned that I speak 2 slave languages myself...Arabic and English. I apologize to you and I deeply regret hurting your feelings or making you feel that you are different than I am. We are all the same who are Black worldwide. We all speak invader languages of many different types. But that doesnt mean we are not moving forward to empower ourselves. I really love all African people. I love us all so madly. I did not mean to sound this way, because that is not my heart. I am not angry or disliking of anyone who speaks Swahili, English or Arabic. I was just trying to remind people of the actual origin and history. Again, I am very sorry for any pain I caused. KOLA BOOF
