** CLASSES PROVIDED TO YOU BY UNITED DANCE IN 2014!!!* ~ Ballet (RAD Syllabus) ~ Students who participate in classical ballet through the RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) syllabus in lesson at United Dance are taught the correct technique to improve their style, posture and musicality. The RAD Syllabus is a worldwide known syllabus professionally used for dancers wanting to pursue careers in classical ballet or dance. Students are given the opportunity to participate in the RAD classical ballet examinations or recreational classes. ~ Jazz ~ Jazz is a style of dance performed to upbeat music, while learning the correct techniques to perform leaps, kicks, turns and the classic groovy moves. All styles of jazz are presented to student’s including commercial jazz style, also seen in music clips and movies (e.g. Step up, Honey), broad way jazz, traditional jazz and jazz funk. ~ Tap (Glen Wood Tap Syllabus) ~ Students who participate in tap lessons are provided the professional tuition under the Glen Wood Tap Syllabus. The Glen Wood Syllabus is a well-known syllabus undertaken by many professional dancers including the Tap Dogs. Students are given the opportunity to participate in examinations or recreational classes. ~ Hip Hop ~ Students participating in hip hop classes are taught the dynamics and basic moves for hip hop which are fun, fresh and age appropriate. They are encouraged to incorporate their own style to their technique while performing routines and hip hop combinations to the latest upbeat RnB music also seen in celebrity film clips such as Usher, Chris Brown and Beyoncé. ~ Contemporary/Lyrical ~ All contemporary and lyrical classes are provided with the basic classical ballet technique while incorporating modern styles of contemporary and lyrical dance move. Students are taught and encouraged to use musicality, dynamics and feeling in classes, while learning the correct techniques to improve their flexibility and to perform kicks, turns and jumps.
