CLASSROOM OF THE WEEK: After talking to the children about how important it was to give back to the community through our Towards A Better World curriculum component, the children at Bright Horizons at Apex (Apex, NC) decided they wanted to do something meaningful. By teaming up with Cuts for a Cure they were able to set up a mini salon in their center! Two local hairstylists donated their time and children, parents and staff were able to get their hair cut. Taylor, the Assistant Director, didn’t just stop at a trim; she shaved her entire head to donate a Ziplock bag full of hair! They also held an ArtSmart silent auction. Children and staff created pictures that were bid on at the event. Families enjoyed coming together and were very generous with their donations. Overall, the center raised over $4000 to be donated to the St. Baldricks Foundation, a charity committed to childhood cancers research.
